Lighting the fight. The meaning of Illuminations

More than 2,000 Australians live with MND. Their average life expectancy is 27 months from diagnosis. Today, two Australians will die from MND. Two more will be diagnosed.

From 6 June, landmarks across Australia will glow in Big Freeze cornflower blue, symbolising solidarity in the fight against MND. These Illuminations offer a powerful moment to honour those we’ve lost, stand with those battling the Beast and acknowledge the caregivers who give so much to support their loved ones.

While there is no cure for MND yet, Australia’s strength lies in action. Together, we’ve battled the Beast for more than 10 years, but there is still work to be done. Together we can live it forward and take steps towards creating a world free from MND.

We are freezing the nation!

From coast to coast, Illuminations will light up Australia in support of those living with MND. Find your nearest glowing landmark, grab your Big Freeze 11 Beanie and live it forward.
